LOVING WITH THE EARTH:
A PRAYER

There is a mystical tradition that – like the individual soul – the whole of creation lives in a bond of love with the One, the Absolute, the Beloved. Like many mystics before us, we can experience in our hearts: The Earth has a love affair with God. This is hidden in her spiritual light – the light that leads us to recognizing that all creation is sacred.
When we tune into this relationship of love from the depth of our hearts, we bring together light with light, the light of our soul with the light of creation, which eventually is one light. Thus the Earth — who through nature gives us so much, touches us so deeply and reminds us of the deepest love– can in turn be reminded of her light through our spiritual practice, our prayers. Without this light there can be no healing, no transformation.
Our prayer for the Earth becomes a prayer with the Earth as we remember and celebrate the fundamental love affair together with her and for her.
